the puller i have just pulled out the needle bearings and their races front and rear. there's very little lip on the back of the pilot bearing. can i very carefully cut it away? drill it ? any help appreciated!

I read somewhere that you pack grease in the center and then use a wooden dowel or maybe a socket with tape around it, that just fits the hole and then use a hammer to tap the grease into the hole. Use a dremmel and cutting wheels- cut the bearing in half the best you can and chisel it out is what I did. Kinda broke it in half.
