I have a nicely built 331 stroker, with Edlebrock Performer heads that came out of my 89 Convertible. I want to run this motor in my '65 Mustang, only I want to change the intake system and run a carb. I have an E-303 cam in this motor. So my question is this, can I simply change the induction system without changing the cam, or will I need to get a non FI computer type cam?

you do not need to change the cam. you will need to change the distributor also however and be sure to use a steel distributor gear, or swap the one from the EFI distributor. If you use an iron gear it will get ground up and damage your motor. [ March 20, 2007, 05:19 PM: Message edited by: 67stang ]

If you are hurtin' for cash for a distributor, you can run a distributor & ignition module from a carbureted 85 Mustang. AutoZone wants like $150 for both of them.
Just be sure to get the steel gear!
