my buddy gots a 306 h/c/i ,longtubes,bolt-ons, 24lb injectors with calibrated massair, but stock fuel regulater, stock fuel pump. some shop where they put the motor in said it should be fine. but the fuel pressure gauge is around 35psi at idle, and when you accelerate it drops around 29psi. opinions? i say upgrade, thanks eddie.

Do the same check with the vaccum disconnected from the fuel pressure regulator. If it still does it, I say it's pump change time.
