I have a Trick Flow Stage 1 and GT-40 Turbo Swirl heads, I love the setup. It lopes really hard for just a stage one, you can really feel when it kicks in around 2500-3000rpm. I just need bigger rear tires, because it often starts spinning them when it does kick in. I just don't know if it will pass smog.

Trick Flow stage 1. Smog legal, good idle, good low-mid power.

the ref is not going to yank out the cam. it will pass emissions on a properly running car that isnt already running the borderline (larger injectors, carb legal blower, everything else, etc) and unless the ref can see it, he cant check any more than any other smog shop.
and i do live in cali

The custom cam I have was made for GT 40's on a 302. I have the cam card in hand as well.

Is that trickflow cam better than the E303? How well does it work with computer controlled cars as the E cam can be a real bitch to get to idle good.

A TFS stage 1 will embarass a E303 anyday, especially in a blown application. Back when I first picked my Cobra up, I was running 13psi, a TFS stage 1, and a ported Edelbrock 5.0 intake and RPM heads. Combo turned 468 rwhp, 11.0's in the quarter...and I LEGALLY passed smog no sweat.

I was seeing around 11-12 psi. Holley Systemax with AFR 185's. Had to notch the stock pistons for the 2.02 valves. Here is the Video

Thanks bro. No you can't use the stock valves. The heads are set-up for the 2.02 only. You wouldn't want to run the puny stock valves anyways, they'll hurt airflow costing you HP. [ February 15, 2007, 02:27 AM: Message edited by: streakmatt ]

Well you can put the 185's on without problems if you are running the stock cam. But if you do have a cam, yes the AFR 165 are an excellent head that will work with the stock bottom end without any mods. If you are looking for heads to get i would suggest the 165's or the trick flow twisted wedge.
