I'd check pumps, relays or any switches first. Make sure your pump is turning on. If you're efi you can hook up a pressure tester to your system and turn the ignition on. You should get a psi reading with ignition on and especially when cranking. If not then you have no fuel pressure so your pump would not be working. If you're getting pressure at the rails but its still doing this then your injectors aren't firing.
