It depends on your application. For drag racing, I would probably buy a pre-built kit. If road racing, I would spend the extra money for something to be done custom. And don't just go to a loacl welder. Its your life and saftey. Don't be cheap on safety. I have personally seen crappy work break in accidents. Its not worth it to cheap out.

Problem with a pre fab is they dont fit very tight...
We can do a cage for you with d.o.m or chrome moly and mig or tig it and form it perfectly to your interior.

Hands down wolfe racecraft makes the best fitting roll cage for mustangs.

I recently installed 2 Chromoly Bolt-in 8-pt Wolf rollcages. VERY tight fit & a nice quality piece.
Expensive cage, but then again, bolting it in is a hell of a lot cheaper than having it tig'd. & it's NHRA legal to 10.0 acordidng to Wolf.
Here's some pics:
The rear bars go over the back seats so there's no cutting into the plastic interior pieces.....which is nice IMO. With the low-slung door bars you don't even need the swing outs for getting in/out, but it does make things a little easier when working in the car.
