Is there any specific way to detect if your fuel pump is bad or soon going to take a shit on you. I know that a humming noise from the rear is a sign, but is there any way to know for sure? And how hard difficult are they to replace? Thanks [ December 24, 2006, 04:57 PM: Message edited by: 94_5.0 ]

94 5.0,
You can do a pressure test, volume test or if you want to get fancy you can use an oscilliscope to look at the electical wave forms.
By far the easiest would be to hook up a fuel pressure gauge and tape it to the windshield and go for a drive. Have a co pilot monitor the gauge as you drive around.
