So by friday I'll be placing an order and still undecided, but I'm on a tight budget right now. It's for a '87 5.0 mostly stock(Pulleys, Exhaust) possibly throwing a HCI, and gears and possibly a bottle soon. I'm looking into either Centerforce Dual Friction, King Cobra, Spec stage 2..I'm not really worried about having a stiff pedal or anything, only drive it around town here and there. Looking for a hard grabbing clutch capable of handling future mods. I never really felt anything other then the spec stage 2 in another fox and it grabbed pretty hard between shifts..
I got qouted for a Spec Stage 2 (inc T/O bearing) from a member on the Corral for $275 Shipped(Seems pretty cheap??). Another member on here has King Cobra for $125 Brand New. I've checked Summit for Centerforce Dual Friction, around $350 with T/O bearing
Anyone know website or company with good prices? [ November 08, 2006, 04:45 AM: Message edited by: J24I ]

Sorry I didn't return your call bro.
I would go for the King Cobra for $125. But remember you have to get your flywheel resurfaced for like $30 and get a new T/o so remember to add that in.
I got my Centerforce Stage II from Topnotch for a great price a long time ago. I'm thinking of selling that and the pro 5.0 shifter I got to get a TKO but school is fucking it up.

You trying to sell the Pro 5.0? I'm pulling the tranny right now get the flywheel already done so it can be all ready by the time I get the clutch...So the King Cobra's a good clutch?

Fords King Cobra is a good clutch, but it isn't a GREAT clutch in terms of handling H/C/I with a power adder. It just isn't made to handle that sort of abuse repeatedly considering this is your daily driver.
If you had your future h/c/i/p.a setup now I would get at least a dual friction, or Spec III considering that is 375-400+ hp. A King Cobra would last 10 passes with that power if you slip it a lot. Clutch life also varies with mileage, and driver abuse.
So just get the King Cobra for now. Someone replied on your post too with a "barely used King Cobra for $20"!

My King cobra has been behind my 11 second 347 on slicks for 25k plus miles. It is very streetable and cheap. It should give you plenty of growing room.
