Loud and deep = H-pipe with flows dumped.
Raspy and scream = X-pipe

Blah...Flows suck.
Get some long tubes, o/r H, and dumped MACs.

Everyone is forgetting the longtubes with prochamber and 2 chamber flows. quite idle and plenty loud when you get down to business

An H-pipe will give you loud and deep. A X-pipe will be loud and raspy. I personally like the sound of an h-pipe better.

This is good info. I was thinking of putting an xpipe on my 68 but i want it loud and deep so i am gonna go with a H for sure.

for a '68.. I'd put long tubes and 2 straight pipes. at the the end put an slp loud mouth muffler. I'd like to hear how that sounds!

I've had a bbk off road H and bbx off road X and like the X more. I think what you have the x or h going to in regards to muffler is what makes or breaks the sound your looking for.

my buddy has a full bassani exhaust w/ an o/f x and it sounds really nasty(deep and a hit of exotic sound)100 times better then flowmaster! plus flowmaster doesn't flow as good as other brands out there...
