Today my speedo and miles tracker stopped working. However the tach is still fine. First place to check is where the cable goes to the transmission. From there where do I go?

I thought it might be on its way out due to going anywhere under 25mph the needle would bounce consistantly.

check the gear piece that the cable connects to in the tranny. most the time they can become worn and the gear will chip off.

just unplug the cable, chuck it into a power drill, and spin the drill in reverse and have a buddy watch the speedo to see if it registers 20-40mph or not.

if it works with the drill it's the speedo gear, if it doesn't than it's the cable or the speedo itself.
