Anyone have any advice on purchasing crate engines over the net? Which of them all (companies) have a great reputation for selling 302 crate engines? Thanks again.....

You can get a Ford Racing motor through Summit Racing or Jegs.

I would go with a local builder just for peace of mind and proximity! Although I used DSS and have had no problems from there shortblock! Do not buy the crap ford with the hyper pistons from summit it is way too expensive for what you get.

I agree, go local, many times they will bild it in stages if you cannot pay all at once, Ive had 2 motors built that way, takes longer but its worth it to be able to pay the rent
