Hi, I just bought a 2006 Mustang GT. for some reason I keep getting "Check gas cap" light [Confused] Do I need to get a new gas cap?

Did you leave it off or loose after getting gas? If you did, then it may take a couple of days or drive cycles before the code/light clears. If the cap is on correctly, you can disconnect the battery for 5 minutes, step on the brake pedal a couple of times, reconnect the battery, and that should clear the code.
