i just finished my motor swap and a mass air conversion on my 86. When i went to start the car i didn't hear my fuel pump go on??? the car didn't start. I bought a brand new fuel relay (the one under the drivers seat) and i bought a brand new eec relay. i checked the interial switch and it seems good i bypassed it and it still doesn't turn on the fuel pump. The thing is when i turn the ignition i hear a click come from the ecc relay and the relay under the celinode( under the hood. I connected the fuel pump up to power and it works, so i know the fuel pump is still good. i switch back to my old computer and its the same story. I have no idea what the problem is????????????

Hook the ground wire up for your injector harness. Either that, or the connector to the TFI isn't plugged in completely.

i check both and they are both set up correct. The only way i can get the fuel pump to work is giving a B+ to the interial switch and grounding out the fuel pump test port.

Sounds like the fuel pump relay .
check if your relay is turning on.
check backwards for 12 v, on the fuel pump relay.

Even though it is a new fuel pump relay, it seems like it isn't closing.
On a 91, at least , ground is always connected to the fuel pump. 12v comes through the relay .
IS it an a9l computer ?

i do have the a9l in it. the fuel pump relay under the seat has 4 wires. The yellow/green wire is reading ground, red/black is reading ground, pink and black is reading ground, and yellow is reading B+. If i get a power off of the battery and put it up straight to the pink/black it will keep the fuel pump on ,but the car wont start????????

pk/blk should always have 12v
b y applying power there , it means the relay is closed , assuming it is wired up correctly.
I don't see how to upload a picture, but I'll try to email it to you

make that the pk/bl that goes to the relay .
Maybe your wiring has different colors , but you should have 12v on 2 of the relay wires

have you checked for spark?
as johnb said, it sounds like there is something wrong with the fuel injector harness ground or the TFI isn't connected

when my ignition is on and i probe the 2 wires on the harness both wires are reading positive. Also i have installed 2000 mustang injectors in it (1986) does anyone think that could be the problem????

What are you getting for codes ? I agree that since it won't start w/ the fuel jumpered and running, there is another problem.
The fuel pump is turned on by pin 4 applying ground.
Something else isn't correct, and the ecu isn't sending the ground to the fp relay.

personally I'd take a step back and get it running with the speed density computer.
once you've added the swap harness and the new pins it's easy to go back and forth from SD to MAF config.
one less thing to worry about IMO.

I bet your using the wrong injector harness, JohnB should be able to tell you, that in a certain yr they used 1 more wire in the harness. Thats where your problem is I bet

i did not use the harness that i bought from you. The harness that you sold me doesn't work for a mass air harness. and also i use my stock 86 injecoter harness and main harness. also i got my car to start after i switch computers with a buddy of mines a9l.
