okay I just finished my 93 gt I have a custom cam GT40 Heads from Haulinassmaro and crane gold 1.7 rockers, im not sure if its a clearence issue because when i loosened a bold on one of the rockers for that, there was compresion. There wasnt any prior to that. what do you guys think? Danny

Are they pedestal or stud mount rockers? Sounds like they are too tight or you have the wrong length pushrods.

Yeah, thats what i was thinking, would this be becasue theyre too short or too long?

it had no compresion until i losed up the bold on the rocker

Perhaps the bolt was torqued down too much which compressed the spring = left valve somewhat open.

did you dab some grease on top of the valve, set the lash, then pull off the rocker to see if the pushrod length is right?

I had this problem also. Pushrods were too long (valves were not closing completely). Comp Cams makes/sells an adjustable pushrod that allows you to find the right length. Summit carries it for around $25.00 and it saves a lot of time and headache. Chances are: new heads + new cam = new pushrods. The crazy thing with mine was that cyl. 1,2 had over 100lbs. of compression and the rest had under 10lbs. thanks a lot! im gonna see if this is the problem, the thing that sucks is i dont know what cam i have and i dont wanna go trhough the trouble of putting one in.

theres one that comes with rocker its Lunati that one is $71 and theres a bunch of $25 they give different measuremnets so wich one should i go with?
