I finished installing my fresh new motor and it wont start. I have tried turning the distributor as the car is cranking , nothin... I would like to have someone who is knowledgable and can come to my place in Castro Valley and read my codes. I have spark, it has backfired about twice. Any other advise is welcomed. My old friend stoauto has been helping me but he is off to military duty , and im kinda stuck. Im pretty sure everything is assembled correctly , should be good for a 12 pack of your favorite beverage any takers ?

Sounds like your timing is fucked up. Did you mark the distributor before you took it out? Also, double check the order of your plug wires. Firing order is COUNTER clockwise.
If you are not sure about distributor position I would reset the timing.
EDIT: your timing may also be 180 degrees off.

I am pretty sure the timing is right , when I found tdc on #1 cylinder I made sure the timing mark was on 0 on my pulley. Everything lined right up perfectly. I had marked front and back on the distributor before removing it. I may try moving the distributor one tooth each way from where I am now. After that I will try moving it 180 and see what happens. I would still like to find someone to read the codes for me , I will add a couple of bong hits to that 12 pack. anyone ?
