Has anyone got a custom tune from any of these shops? How was your experience? Any info would help.

The Stratagy most Diablo dealers use is not ideal....especially on 03/04 Cobra's since the fuel table is based on throttle possition instead of load. *Most* Diablo tuners use the fuel tables to dial in the A/F curve....which is basically modifying the pulse-width of the injectors to get the desired A/F curve.
The problem is that the 03/04 cobra fuel table is based on throttle possition & RPM. At a given throttle position & RPM you plug in the desired A/F. Most tuners modify the top TP values as this is what the computer looks at during WOT.
At WOT the A/F curve is tuned & flat on the dyno, but on the street if you're not going WOT (say 75% throttle), the A/F curve will not be correct unless the tuner spent a LOT of time dialing in the part-throttle (open loop) A/F curve.
Having said that, there are a few locals around here that run Nick Newton's tunes & they seem to be happy with his work.

I just had John at Altered Speed tune my 98 Cobra. I am not supercharged, but I know he tunes everything (turbo's, NOS, superchargers). I am happy with my tune and he has a Mustang dyno. From what I have read mustang dynos are better for tuning then dynojets because they put a load on the car while tuning to simulate somewhat real driving conditions.
