I heard that you need a new wiring harness when doing this swap. is this true?

Yes. Or, as I did, unplug the harness at the AOD, and jump the pink and white wires. Of course, there is no neutral/safety or clutch switch hooked up.

The only harness you need to change is the short one that goes to the trans, maybe 1 1/2- 2 feet long. It has a plug on one end and a connector on the other that connects to the trans for the back up lights. There is also a plug with a jumper under the dash. you remove the plug from the harness and plug it into the clutch pedal switch. I'm in Roseville, if you need any help just let me know, I have done a couple auto to 5 speed swaps. ![[patriot]](graemlins/patriot.gif)
