I have been trying to figure out what forged, port, and some other word similar to these, actually mean. All I know is that it is a customization of an engine part. My question is what major STOCK parts can be forged, ported (on a 5.0) to have some gains in HP? Thanks in advance

Port means to make intake and exhaust runners bigger. Its basically like taking a small circle and making it bigger. If you do this to cylinder heads and intake manifolds they flow more air, and more air=more power. Forged is the parts in your engine like the crank shaft, rods, and pistons. Forged metal instead of cast metal is stonger.

How about an exhaust header? CAn it be ported to some extent? If so, is this bad in the long run; eg: leaks, cracks...?

You can port them at the flanges, as long as it is done right it will hold up just as good or better than new.
