It would have saved me some $$$ in the end. I was just in Summit in Reno on Friday and they have the 302HO GT-40 long blocks on Managers Special for like $2,995. In fact there was a crated one on the showroom floor with the sale tag-I'm sure the deal is still going on. You will be lucky to get 280RWHP from one of those crate engines. That also includes a pan, intake, w pump, dist, etc...all installed and ready to drop in. Most builder's "long block" prices don't include those extras so it's important for the original poster to compare evenly.
