anyways, just wanted to know what would cause my engine to struggle to stay alive and sometimes die when coming to a stop after driving for a while. lets say it's in gear and then i slow down and take it out of gear, then the rpm's drop down to about 2 to 300 rpm. it sometimes dies as well. it does have a cam in it, could that be part of it. any help is appreciated, thanks

Try cleaning/replacing your IAC valve. If that was clogged or sticking it wouldn't open in time to compensate for the change in engine load (from cruising to a stop).

it probably needs to be tuned or timing chain needs to be right.

I had the same problem, I cleaned the egr valve and replaced the egr valve sensor and that solved it for me, but all those other feedback you got could possibly be it also

i have the same problem and i wait until my car is going to die and then push the clutch in. it aslo does that when i pull in drive ways or i come to a stop in high rpm. i also replaced the fuel sensor already awhile ago b.c my rpm would drop even in nuetral. i have an e303 cam and i have had someone do the timing which helped for 2 or 3 days and then it went back to doing it. if anyone would like to help me as well i would appreciate it. i am some what new to fords but if it was a chevy i would have no prob.

i have a TFS stage 1 cam, and the EGR valve and sensor was replaced brand new about 500 miles ago. O2 sensors are new, it just happens when coming to a stop while either down shifting or taking it out of gear right before stopping. thanks for the replies!

yes, its the valve on the throttle body facing forward. disconnect the sensor, remove the valve and sensor, remove the sensor from the valve(two philips head screws). pull the valve from the sensor, then when looking in the valve, make sure the tiny little hole is facing towards you, not to the side. that is what solved my problem, good luck!
