It will fail and cause the car not to start though.<br /><br />The module has a plug in connector and is held by two screws that are connected to a metal plate on the distributor. Is the crack between the module and metal plate what you are talking about? If so I would not neccessairly worry about it. And I think it even says on the package TFI Module Tool Or Wrench.
