Can anyone enlighten me on the TFI module??? Like some links to what it does, where to buy a new one, how to replace, and stuff like that??? I think the one that's in my car is taking a dive... there is a slight hair line crack. But don't know if that is what's causing the rough idle. The module has nothing to with a rough idle. It will fail and cause the car not to start though.
The module has a plug in connector and is held by two screws that are connected to a metal plate on the distributor. Is the crack between the module and metal plate what you are talking about? If so I would not neccessairly worry about it. Modules cost around $80.00.
If you drive long distances, like to Tahoe then It is good to have an extra module in your car.

I got it at Allied in Fremont. I think pretty much ANY auto parts store will have it. And I think it even says on the package TFI Module Tool Or Wrench. Its an easy find and cheap to buy.
