Is there a huge visual difference between 255/45/17 and 255/40/17?

On a tire calculator I found that the two are very close to stock specs such as mph, diameter and all that. So now I'm wondering about how they'll look or if there is even that much of a visual difference

id go with the 45's as you will have a lil more sidewall to protect your rims, as we all know how shitty bay area roads are.

Here is a pic of my old 2000 GT (now one00stang's) with stock 245/45/17 Goodyears up front and some cheap Negotiator tires in 255/40/17 in the rears. IMO, I'd go with 255/40s due to a slightly wider footprint and thinner sidewall.

I don't think you can get 255 on a fox without major mods. As I recall they wont fit under the rear fender wells.

I have 245/40/ZR17 and they rub in the front if I turn too sharply. My car is also lowered 1.5"

I think 245/45/17 (lowered) would yield a little better ride, but may rub even worse.

If my math is right, the difference is only .28 inches...that would be harldy(if any)noticable diffenence.
