A tune would not hurt. There may be more power that you are missing and do not even realize it. Apex has a special right not for 399 with the chip.

I would get a tune. Your car will run better, make more power, and help prevent damage.
Contact Jeffs. He is a good SCT tuner

I have no experience with them one way or another. 399 is a good price though. I have heard good and bad. There are some people that you are never going to make happy though. Before you make a decision call them or go there and see for yourself.

I'd suggest stopping by RPM in Rohnert Park. Let me know when you want to stop by and I'll make sure myself and Brad are there and we can see what we can do for you.
BTW, Apex's deal for $399 is only for naturally aspirated cars.
Either way, goodluck with your setup

I would figure out who you are going to get to tune your car and ask them what you need. This will save you a lot of time and guess work.
You will probably need to upgrade your fuel system though.

I have owned the shop for over 1 year now and believe I have done a pretty good job of turning the shop around. I would say 98% of our customers are extremely happy with the results from work we do on their cars. The 2% who are unhappy usually do not follow our advice and end up being disappointed or they have unrealistic expectations of what their car can do. On the rare occasions we do make mistakes we do whatever it takes regardless of time or money to get it resolved.
My 2 top mechanics have over 35 years of working on performance cars ranging from street rods to top fuel dragsters. I trust their advice and they have help me make Apex successful.
The reasons some people say do not go to Apex are usually not valid. Ask that person has he "actually" had work done at Apex.. OR did he "here" it from someone. Apex has been around for over 6 years with 3 different owners. The 1st owner, Bill Kaiser, did a pretty good job but sold mostly higher higher end product. The 2nd owner, Mike Fuller, owned it for 6 months and this is where most of the bad rap from Apex comes from.
Also, Apex Motorsports carries ALL the top manufacturer of performance products for the Mustang. We have several exclusive relationships with manufacturers. Not only do we sell their products, we have most it in stock. If we did shotty work we would not be allowed to sell their products on an exclusive basis. -Griggs Racing-Only shop authorized to sell and install their products in Norcal. They came out to our Grand Opening & Car Show. -Maximum Motorsports-One of their largest reseller in Norcal. They came out to our last car show. -Kenne Bell Superchargers-Only 1 of 2 authorized resellers allowed to sell and install their products North of Bakersfield. We are the largest Kenne Bell reseller in Norcal. -SCT Dyno Tuning-Factory Trained Tuners -Diablosport Dyno Tuning -Coast High Performance Engines-Great quality at a great price. -Evolution Motorsports-Exclusive reseller in Norcal -Racelogic Traction Control Systems- Exclusive reseller in Norcal -Vortech Superchargers -Baer Racing Brakes, Power Slot, Brembo -Bassani & Maganaflow Exhaust -Steeda -Bilstein, Koni, Tokico, KYB -Raptor Shift Lifts -and much more…..
If you ever have a chance please come by the shop you'll notice some real nice projects including....
03 Mach 1 -1.7 Kenne Bell w/ Working Shaker & Apex SCT Tune -Griggs TA, PH Bar, & Coil Over kit.
66 Mustang -5-Speed Tremec conversion -4 wheel SSBC disc -347 CHP Engine w/ Carb setup -AFR Heads, Total Control Suspension
01 Mustang GT -5.1L Stroker CHP Engine w/ Custom Ported 2V Heads -1.7 Kenne Bell Supercharger -Full Maximum Motorsports Suspension, Apex SCT Tune
93 Saleen Speedster -AFR Heads w/ Vortech SQ w/ Apex SCT Tune
93 Ford F150 Supercab 4x4 -1.7 Kenne Bell Supercharger w/ Apex SCT Tune
2005 Ford F150 Crew Cab 4x4 -Roush Supercharger for 5.4L 3V, Apex SCT Tune
I also am a contributing editor to Drive Magazine and write a monthly article. If you ever get a chance pick up an issue and it's a pretty cool magazine and it's free at alot of speed shops.. or you can buy it at Barnes and Noble. [ January 20, 2006, 12:20 AM: Message edited by: Apexmotorsports ]

It's only a 15 minute ride up north if you want to put your setup on the table and go over it with Brad to figure out everything.
Sounds like you have a nice setup

Let me know if you want to set up a time to talk it over. Today we tuned a friends 66 with an EFI conversion. Baseline was 248 and final numbers were 305!
I told Brad, owner, of your setup and he said sure, come on in and figure something out! [ January 23, 2006, 10:22 PM: Message edited by: hidnn.o.s. ]

This is brad from RPM (Dynotuning.com)I do not remember talking with you about an FMU but I would have said that we don't recommend the Fmu because it is a bandaid to get you to safe power and to get the most power. A 6-7 lb kit with your combination generally requires 30 to 36 lb injectors. We should look at the package but in general this works best for most street applications and future mods. Give me a call at 707-584-8230. Thanks for your consideration.
