I haven't driven my mustang in about a month and when I went to start it the battery was dead. I tried jumping it for about 20 minutes and it wouldn't start. I swapped batteries to see if it was the battery and the car started up fine. I took it to Pep Boys and they told me that they can't test it or charge because they don't do deep cycle or marine batteries. My battery is only 2 years old and it would suck to have to spend another $130 on a new optima. Can anyone tell me if there's a place that tests deep cycle batteries?

i work at Sears Auto center and i test optimas every week...bring it to your nearest sears auto center....if they say they cant test it then thats bullshit...we sell and test and warranty optimas...so take it to them...

put a VOM on it yourself. If it is below 10 it is dead. Anything above 10 MIGHT be salvagable with a deep slow charge.

Not all Optimas are deep-cycle or marine. On a related note, my deep-cycle Optima only lasted about 2 years... now it won't hold a charge much longer than a couple weeks.

either way...you still wont have to spend $130 on a new one..they will do some type of prorate and it'll cost you abotu half as much
