ANyone have any experience with the SCT 4 bank chip that can be programmed from the seller based on your vehicles specs...
Do they improve power and driveability like they promise?
Can the same chip be reprogrammed with a custom dyno tune at a later time??
Any feedback would be helpful...

I would recommend getting a dyno tune. I never liked the idea of a chip that is programmed off of specs and not actually fine tuned on the car.
Jeffs is an SCT tuner on this board. I would recommend contacting him
Good luck

A dyno tune is definately a good idea as no two cars are exactly the same...even with the exact same mods. ![[patriot]](graemlins/patriot.gif)

I would not go with a mail order tune. Defintely go with a local company which will dyno tune your car. We among other companies in the area can help you out. [ December 08, 2005, 10:28 PM: Message edited by: Apexmotorsports ]

Thanks for the advive....you've confirmed what the tuner at mustangtuning.com said, which was a mail order tune probably wouldnt help a heavily modified car....one with alum heads, intake, cam, blower.

These are all are local shops and are SCT Dealers/Tuners.I would NOT go with a mail order tune. Each car is totally different and each car requires a different tune and is impossible to do without having the car available.I had mine done thru Jeff s. and it has worked out great .I also have heard good things about the other shops as well.
