Well I'm almost ready to start the makeover on my car. It's going to be a totally different car when i am done. I still need to purchase a clutch since i don't want to have to do a clutch anytime soon after i put the LT's on. So i have a friend that works at Ford and can get a 03 Cobra clutch kit for $500.00 including AL flywheel.... Is that my best choice? or would a King Cobra hold up any better? I'm also waiting on the other set of heads to be ported and polished. Then i want to swap the SHM 2730 cams for some VT stage 2 or the equal comp cams.

So on the list of things to do there is:

CC plates
Struts
Coil overs
K-member
A-Arms
Heads
Cams
LTs
H-pipe
Having a friend weld some 2.5" over axle tubes on to the Magnaflows
4.10's (friend is doing the rear)
31 spline T-loc
31 spline axles
weld torque boxes and axle tubes
Upper control arms
lower control arms
rear shocks
rear springs W/air bag
clutch

What else should i buy besides SFC's, AL drive shaft?

What else should i need or should i do since I'm going to be going through everything?

A couple of friends of mine and myself are going to do all of this over one weekend. Shouldn't be a problem. Any help or helpful comments are appreciated. now for the pics.

Also, when i put the LT's on i want start the car up and drive it around the block just to see how loud it would be. Is this a bad idea? Could it damage anything?

DO NOT weld the axles tubes, unless your friend has the correct jig to do it, DO NOT DO IT

when you weld the tubes it will throw them out of place, DO NOT DO THIS WITH OUT A JIG, with your power level it isnt needed, dont worry about it

other than that have fun, one weekend might be a little optomistic, but i hope it works out

without doing the heads and i can see it happening, but throw in motor work and that one weekend becomes quite short

and dont forget an alignment [Big Grin]

The K-member is UPR and it is already coated.

So NO on the axle tube welding.

Yea, i forgot to add the alignment in there.

My friend works at Ford and can do the engine work in one night. I figure i will start on Friday night and probably be done sunday night.

holy moly thats a lot of parts your gonna be putting on this weekend. I dont think driving around with straight headers will damage anything other than your ear drums lol

good luck with the instal and let us know how everything turns out. Your right in that it will be a whole new kind of car once your finished

well it's not goig to be installed THIS weekend, but it will be installed soon. I'm finding out that i should go with Tokico Struts instead of Strange, don't put the tubular K-member on because of insurance not covering the car if i were to get in a accident, Not to weld the axle tubes, and get McLeod clutch and fidanza flywheel. Now i have to do more thinking and research.

Copy Cat [Wink]

I don't understand about the axle tube welding. [Confused] Please explain. I have welded both of my cars, and no problems so far.

The K-member is still going in. The Motive gears might get traded for FRPP ones though since i heard that motive gears whine.

Looks like when I re-did my mustang. It was the best and worst thing I've ever done. its awesome because the car is entirely different, but it also makes your car a lot less streetable. I now hate driving my car on a daily basis, but love taking it around the block real quick on the weekends.. *shrug* I guess thats the name of the game.

Oh yeah, and looking at your BBK headers, I think I'm deffinatly going to switch.. I've had NOTHING but problems with my Hookers I got from JetHot, horrible flange design and slip fit [Mad]

ENJOY! Its an exciting process!

Why is it so horrible to drive now? I dont think i'm doin anything to the car that is goin to make it any less streetable. It should just be a different ride. I know i will like driving it.

4:10s with coil-overs... shifting constantly and the ride is rougher (at least for my spring rate) with my coilovers.

The K-Member on the otherhand is priceless. I wouldn't trade that thing for the world. The ease of getting to things is amazing.

Honestly I do not know. I did not make a knowledgable choice when I decided to buy the coilovers. I didn't know about spring rates until after, so I just ordered D&D "Coil Over" kit, they didn't ask me anything about spring rates, plus Im running stock struts up front. I just need to replace my coil over setup and throw some new struts in there while im at it.
