i'd rather not install a smog pump eliminator, but the instructions dont include a provision for the belt without one.
any other options? this is going in a 93 cobra, no a/c, ps pump moved up. thanks [ October 20, 2005, 12:39 PM: Message edited by: G.O.P 351 ]

you dont need a smog pump eliminator, yo can just let the belt go from the crank to the alt without hitting the smog pump pulley or a dumy pulley
you should check and make sure there isnt any interference with the hellion kit but there shouldnt be
post up some pics and then we can tell you better

eric...i just talked to the helion, and i NEED to have an eliminator because that is what the alternator stay bolts to.
i guess its not as bad as having an actual smog pump.

who is this, do i know you from somewhere??, just curious
thats kinda strange that it says the alternator bolts to the eliminator kit, i will look at there site and see wtf is up with that
i have a smog pump eliminator on the kit car, and it bolts to the braket only, has nothing to do with the alternator

i just looked at helions site and it seems that you are using some very different stuff
the kit comes with a new cast braket along with mounting points and tensioner plate
why dont you want to use what came with the kit, just trying to udnerstand
i wonder if you could use a stock bracket cut down with a march manual alternator tension
something to thing about

the kit came with a little bracket that is mounted to the alternator and the smog pump/delete. this is explicitly what the instructions say. i was just hoping i could find a way to eliminate another pulley.

i thought the mini-tub came out very nice on your coupe. i was disappointed to hear that project came to a halt.
thanks again for your help.

Unfortunately from the pics, you will need to use a pump elimnator. From the looks of it, it's a close copy of the Vortech/Paxton bracket setup. It's even the same tensioner bracket. ![[Roll Eyes]](rolleyes.gif)

that probably who they bought it from, vortech that is
it looks like they use a MAC head for the driver side as well, i guess it cuts cost to just outsource
shit then the use a log header for the pass side like an old cartech kit

Hey man, give us a full report (with pics) on the install when you've completed it. MMFF made it look easy. I'm curious to see if that is the case.
Also, how much did you pay for the kit?
