I have a 4 banger that was said to have an 8.8 in the rear. How can I tell?

one is round one is squared off looking.

or just look at the tag on the rear end, it should say something like 38808 for a 8.8 with 3.08 gears

No 4 bangers came with 8.8" rear ends.

yeah, it should be a silver color and attached to one of the diff cover bolts
