Topic: question on map/bap sensor?

is it supposed to have a vaccuum line connected to it. its a 90 gt. mine looks like it has a spot for a vaccuum line but it has like a white cover looking thing over it.

Its a baro(berometric) sensor not a map sensor. It senses altitude. Its not supposed to have a vaccum line.

vacume goes to it on SD cars, then it is a MAP sensor (manifold pressure).
no vacume if it is a MAF car.

No I was wondering this a couple weeks ago on my '88 Roller.
Just cap it off if your MA equipped.

How about leave the sensor open to atmosphere so it can actually sense the barometric pressure and then cap the vacuum line that was hooked to it ot prevent a vacuum leak.
