Yesterday I turned my car on and sudenly it started making a whitling sound,,similiar to the noise a blower makes at idle,,what could this be?? I was thinking its a pulley going bad or the pulley band is dirty.

Pull the accessory belt off, start the engine. If it goes away, you know it's something in the acc system.
Other than that, you might have an intake/vac leak.
