How much rwhp are you running now?....I don't think 2.5" off road pipe will be that restrictive for your combo...Not to mention that 3" cat backs are hard to fit properly over the axle on lowered cars, especially with a panhard bar like you have....

if you're going to have a 2.5" midpipe having a 3" catback wont do shit, thats like using a coffee stir straw to drink out of big gulp.

Is the MAC catback 3" all the way through or just 3" tips? 3" pipes won't help, but I'm sure 3" tips would look nice on your Cobra.

yeah 2.5 is plenty big ... on dual exhaust it will flow up to 450 - 550 hp according to my magnaflow book.

Forced 331 was making 530 at the wheels with 2 1/2 exhaust. He did NOTHING but change to full 3" exhaust and made an additional 36 RWHP. Unless you are making 425 or so AT THE WHEELS, 2 1/2 is fine.

No. You will loose low end torque if you go that big. Stick w/ a 2.5" exhaust.

Jeesh, I can only imagine what mine would turn. It's 600 at the wheels through a 2 1/2" X pipe and 2 1/4" flowtubes and STOCK Cobra tips. ![[burnout]](graemlins/burnout.gif)

Well it did gain that much. Its a full exhaust w/ H-pipe and with Super40 mufflers and also 3inch collectors, pipes over the axle. No reason to BS! ![[patriot]](graemlins/patriot.gif)

well.. i don't think it really matters unless you are putting down a lot of power to the rear wheels. meaning, you wont benefit from it... Perfect example of this was my former cobra. i had a full 3 inch exhaust since it was stock and made the same power without loosing any torque when comparing it with similarly modded cobras.
Johnb, you should change your exhaust just to see if your numbers increase so we can put an end to this discussion. ![[patriot]](graemlins/patriot.gif)

Three inch cat back? Real men use 4" pipes! The bigger the better I say! It's not a matter of too much exhaust, just not enough motor
