It's a 5.0 right? What kind of mufflers? I believe it's generally thought X's sound better on 4.6's and 5.0's sound better with H's. Catted you keep some of your backpressure & the sound is down a bit. If you go o/r and get pulled over & the cop checks, it's a pretty large fine for every cat that's missing. However, I am getting tired of having to change the damn pipe every two years for SMOG, especially if the pipe was just off a month earlier because the clutch was being changed or the tranny's synchros or etc. Which pipe has a CARB# and is legal. It also has to fit well. <br /><br />I am still afraid of a catted pipe because of the backfires I get if I miss a shift. Everyone has there own opinion on this but if you are making power a off road pipe is just too loud and you will be pulled over and your car might be taken from ya.
