X-pipes are ALOT more popular these days and make good power and are a little more quite than H-Pipes.

I believe that an X-pipe will give you a bit more torque. I don't know how much "quieter" an x-pipe is than an H. But my car w/ headers, bassani off-road X, and flow path mufflers is loud as fuck

xpipe will give you more power in the mid to highend power range. the hpipe will be better for lowend power. IMO, go with an offroad or catted xpipe

ya pretty much. both have highs and lows, but their very small for the most part. the majority of the difference is the sound. an hpipe will give you that oldschool deep muscle car sound, when the xpipe will give you the raspy highperformance exotic sound.

Get a Bassani X Pipe with High-Flow cats. Smog Legal, good power increase, and sounds great. I went from an O/R H Pipe on my '94 GT to the Bassani set up and I love it. I definately felt a difference in power and it sounds awesome. But loud as hell; scares the shit out of kids and old people lol. Well that's just my .02 cents.

Nothing that Bassani makes is smog legal in California. It will however pass the sniffer but it wont pass the visual test. But imo I would go with a new 5 piece Bassani X-Pipe. It comes with adapter pipes so you can run it with or without the cats. [ September 23, 2005, 03:57 AM: Message edited by: Mustang Mike ]

i have no cats or resonators with an h-pipe and turndowns withe 2 chamber flows...deeper and quiter then with full catback exhaust...but if i had the chance i would GO X-PIPE!...its a little raspier....but everyone is right...more power and screams even louder when u hit it hard...i suggest turn downs though becasue it quites it down on normal exceleration and is less weight in the rear...i just get complements by cops in the southbay...no one has ever even threatened me with an exhaust ticket....the fake smog was 375$...but hell once ever 2 yrs...i can deal with that. if u want to buy me an x-pipe...ill give u my h-pipe...

I have a BBK offroad X pipe with 2 chamber flows and turn downs and it sounds mean when you get on the gas, not to mension the grumble at idle. The x pipe gives more power in the mid range to high range. Go with the offroad x pipe if you're in the market for new pipes.
