The GT-40Y are for sure smog legal. The GT-40X heads due pass smog, but not sure if it has a carb#.

As far as I know X has no carb #'s.. Also I would get something else for my money as they don't flow any better than stock gt-40's. I know a guy that has them in a 95 vert with gt40 intake, cam, headers, injectors, mass air and a s-trim with 8 psi. He just had it tuned and it made a whoppin 311 rwhp... yea gt-40's!!

The owner of that car is an IDIOT. Nuff said
The heads on the car are not the problem, it's the one on his shoulders, LMFAO
Then again, I'd shoot the tuner, CAUSE HE SUCKS AT HIS JOB

X heads don't have carb numbers but you can't tell them from the Y's externaly. Mine passed smog and they have the hookups. Plus they flow better than the iron GT40's. Stock short block e-cam X heads 2.95 pulley on s-trim I hit 124 mph in the 1/4 I think that is a little better than 311 hp. I did port my X heads at home.
