im tryin to rebuild a 5.0 302 and i need to know if ford changed anything on blocks in their years of building. i ask this because im thinking of picking up a bare block n build it up but i need to know if there are differences then my 1994 302 5.0 motor out of a gt mustang so that everything will fit right going back in. gracias

Nope, all the 302 blocks were the same from 85-late 97 or 98 when the Explorer line of 5.0's stopped.

I thought the older motors had the dipstick up front and not on the rear drivers side

Yea thats the only difference is where the dip stick is but that doesnt matter at all.

my parents old explorer (2000) was a 5.0
