Ok, I've done this before, BUT, this time I cannot remove the mount that slides in/out of the mirror assembly. I know if pushes in and slides out, but I cannot remove it to save my life. I've laid the end over a curb and smashed the damn thing with a flat head and hammer and it will still not slide out. I've pushed it in with plyers and attempted to slide it out and it still won't budge. Any other ideas or experiences?

Almost sounds like somebody might have superglued it sometime in the past. If it's that much of a pain, I'd just head for Pick 'n Pull and get another one.

...and if it was superglued in the past, I think that acetone will dissolve superglue. Acetone can be found in most fingernail polish remover.
Just one man's opinion.
