Hey everyone. I'm currently changing the rear brake rotors and pads for my 1994 Mustang GT. But I ran into a problem. Everything is put back together with the new rotor and pads but I can't compress the brake piston in the caliper. I read the Chilton's book and it said to use a special tool to turn the piston clockwise so that it will compress into the caliper just enough for the pads to clear the new rotors. No matter how much I screw the piston clockwise, it doesn't make a difference. I basically need help from anyone who's changed the brake pads on their 94-98 Mustang GT. Any advice or tips would help. Thank you everyone.

Use a pair of needle nose pliers. Trust me it will work.

it sounds like you have the right idea... you were turning them clockwise? a pair of needle nose pliers will work in a pinch... the tool makes it a little easier.

when I did mine, the rear right wouldnt compress at all, even when I took it out and set it on a bench. the Biatch was siezed.

You also need to push in on the piston while you turn it or it wont go anywhere. If you have a hard time with it, use a large C clamp and some channel locks. tighten the clamp down a little bit and then turn the piston, tighten the clamp and turn the piston. It takes a bit but works if the piston is hung up. good luck [patriot]
