I have 3:55's, a t-5, and 17" wheels on a 90 lx. Which speedo gear is the correct one, and where can I get the best price on it? [ May 23, 2005, 04:55 PM: Message edited by: 88gt ]

90 is one of the trickier years....as they put in either an 89 or a 90 each being different teeth count on the output shaft.
Find out what month the car was made through car fax ect. or simple trial an error the worst that can happen is that you need to buy to gears.
It's either 21 tooth (red) if its a 89 tranny or 23 tooth white if it's a 90. The closest you can get to with a 90 up tranny is if it had 3.55's so the speedo will be a lil off.

you could always get a autometer electric speedo and all you do is when you change gears and or tires you drive it for a mile and then press the reset buttin and it calculates everything and recorects the speedo for you so you don't have to change gears in the speedo. Well I got this off of the jegs website and this is what I found its for their ultra lite searies guages.
105-4486 Speedometer, 200-MPH, In-Dash Mount This programmable speedos feature ''push-button calibration'' that can be easily set while driving. This makes changing gear ratio or tire size easier than ever. The LCD odometer is highly visible and retains the actual mileage after recalibration or in the event 12-volt power is removed, also includes a resettable trip odometer. Will work with late-model transmissions that have an electronic (500 to 400,000 pulse/mile sender) output. Requires sender 105-5291 or 105-5292, if using an early model (cable driven speedo style) transmission.

I am thinking of running that speedo bec I will be running 2 sets of rear tires one set for the track and one for town and when I have the set for the track I will have to drive the car with them on to the track so it will help also so I knwo how fast I am going on the freeway.
