Looks like the old 1996 Explorer with 120K miles on it is having its first problem...the check engine light came on today and it limped home on my wife. I have been meaning to purchase a scanner for some time now and looks like now's the time to do it. Bunch of them out there from Kragen's Actron CP9125 for $69 up to $500 models. Figure I just need the code, look it up on the web, and do the work right? Will the scanner work with my 1995 Mustang as well...I thought '96 was the cutoff for ODB II and ODB I.
Any suggestions on what scanner model to go with?

Guess that is my question... why spend $100 when I can get one for $69? Just wondering if some are better then others.

Except for extra bells and whistles, they all read the same codes!
