Im looking to get a cam soon, but i have heard a lot of people say that its not worth getting one enless you have heads also. I do plan on getting heads but my buddget does not allow for it. So my question is should i buy one now or wait to get both heads and a cam at the same time.

Stock cam can run in the 12's w/ good heads and intake. I ran 12.5 at 109 w/ the stocker plus 1.7 rockers.

On the other hand there are E7TE combos with 11:1 compression or so (milled, mild port work) that run in the 11's with a nasty 230+/230+ cam.
I doubt you'd want a cam like that on a commuter though.

I'd wait and get a cam to match the heads when you can afford both.
