money is an issue, so these are the two i have my eyes on. if all goes to shit, ill get a factory replacement, which i dont want. if i had a choice, i would probably go with the apex dual kevlar clutch, but i dont have $475 for a clutch.....my budget is in these two....
SPEC clutches go for like $200-$350 King Cobra is like $180 i think....no too sure on that..

I have had both the spec. and centerforce. I will take the centerforce again in a heartbeat. Spec was ok but I didn't like the pedal feel. [ May 16, 2005, 03:33 PM: Message edited by: h8louzn ]

now, how stiff was the clutch pedal? did it engage like a factory 01+ clutch? or did it engage high on the release of the clutch pedal? thanks bro

The spec stage 3 is very grabby yes. But the 1 and 2 are fine for a daily driver. I have the SPEC stage 2 and it has lasted longer than the stock replacement, and a king cobra clutch, and i like the pedal feel of the spec a lot better than the king cobra also.

Where it engages is a matter of the adjustment, not the clutch itslef. Get a firewalll adjuster and you can have any clutch engage just about anywhere you want it to. I have my spec 2 engaging about halfway from the floor in the pedal travel. i cant stand it when they engage all the way at the top of the travel. I had the KC and managed to detonate it on the freeway. It wasn't pretty and left me stranded.
I've since been running a SPEC Stage II. The pedal feel is similar to the KC (stiff). I have it adjusted to engage about 2 inches off of the floor. It's not grabby at all. Fine for daily driving and cruising. So far I'm happy.

i have a steeda firewall adjuster sitting at home. just waiting for a the whole clutch replacement for that to go in...im almost looking into a Maximum Motorsports Aluminum Clutch Quadrant.
ya, i am leaning toward a SPEC 2. Mcleod and the Apex clutches are sweet, but WAY expensive. i dont have that kind of money to blow away on a clutch...$280 is a good price for a high-performance clutch...
any more thoughts on the SPEC?
ya, ive heard some bad things about the KC clutch. i hate this haha...dont know what to do...

the centerforce has less pedal effort than the spec. That is why I liked it. After 1 hour of stop and go you will be alot happier. Just my .02
