i know 5.0s burn oil like a mutha, but my 92lx is burnin ridiculous. can anyone recommend an oil brand and oil grade for my 140,000 mile stocker. should i use full synthetic or reg. it's an autotrans if it matters? any help would be appreciated

If you are burning oil that bad then I don't think switching oil types is going to help. Sounds like you have a problem.

if it's burning oil don't use full synthetic it't thiner so well burn easier and cost you a grip.

Synthetic oil is more slippery, not actually thinner. just don't use a straight weight oil, unless you are racing, because that stuff thins out a little when heated to it's boiling point. Where as somethin like 10w30 flows like a 10 weight when cold, but thickens to a 30 weight when it reaches it's operating temp.
Sounds like you have a lot of blow by.
