I'm planning on buying some headers for my 5.0, but was wondering if should go with full lenghty or shorty headers? Any advice would help.

I personally wouldn't bother with headers unless you have heads. To me it's not worth the money or time to put them in or have somebody put them in, the power gain is minimal, the sound gain is nonexistant if you have a stock motor.
Oh yeah, if you do decide to go with headers, the 2 options are, shortys and smog legal or full length and unsmoggable and troublesome as they don't fit like stock. Can you say steering shaft clutch cable and starter problems? [ April 24, 2005, 10:15 AM: Message edited by: BlackDrop50 ]

You wont see any gains with shorties. But if you really want headers, get longtubes and deal with the problems they create which are: they sometimes hit the steering shaft, and you'll need a high torque mini starter because they will fry your stock starter in a couple days. i rather not go that route. I was told to change the full exhuast system to gain some nice hp, is that true (headers, x-pipes, 1 chamb flows)? and that of course would be with the shorty or equal lenght headers.
thnks for the info on the longtubes btw.

I would change the exhaust. Get a set of un-equal length shorties, a Bassani x-pipe (w/ cats if you care about smog), and a cat back.
Keep in mind long tubes won't pass smog. [ April 25, 2005, 06:05 AM: Message edited by: 92stangLX ]

next to the tint, thats the 1st thing I did to my 94, and it did make a difference, I have BBK equal length shorties going into a BBK o/r x pipe, and a Mac Exhaust Get 3.73's, they are badass!!!

Save up for a top end kit (heads, cam, intake) or buy a supercharger. It will be better than putting on a lot of bolt-ons that add up to not much hp.
