just put f-cam, gt-40p heads, edelbrock performer intake, fms headers. i stayed with stock throttle body and put a spacer on it, stock rockers, stock injectors and i have 4:10 gears. it does not feel as fast as i thought it would? timing is at 13 degrees, what should i be at should i feel a difference?

Did you check the spring rates on the heads? Most P heads will barely take .500 lift. They are WEAK.
Edit: also, how did you set the pre-load on the lifters? Are you using stock pushrods? [ March 24, 2005, 08:10 PM: Message edited by: JohnB ]

And you've checked all the lil stuff...timing, fuel pressure, TPS voltage, etc?

timing is set at 13*s He has a stock pump, reg, inj. Never had any probs with tps voltage or ideling issues before swap, I can check the TPS for the hell of it, John do you know off hand what the volt reading is @ idle=closed Thnx PS you think he might have to upgrade to the udj press reg, 24lbr's,155-190lph pump, He has the C&L adj mass air meter not installed too?

He doesn't need the 24's but if he is going to do the fuel system, he may as well upgrade the injectors and everything along with them. That way, when he chooses to swap for better heads soon he'll be ready. Put in a 190 pump minimum.

One more thing, the F-cam is not going to give you much down low as you would expect. The cam doesn't even come alive until 2000rpms at the very least.

a stock fuel pump barley flows enough for stock, maybe it's that.

If he hasn't upgraded the fuel pump, do that. 24lb injectors are not necessary, unless you plan to go alot bigger later. TPS should be somewhere around .96-1.0 on the voltage closed.
