Nah, your supposed to go easy for the first few hundred miles so that the gears dont overheat, then after that change the fluid and your good to go romp on it.

When rearend specialties did my rearend they told me not to go over 60 for more than 30mins... They're probably just trying to cover their asses i guess then because they warranty their work.

Yes, there's a break in.
It's only to keep you from doing a John Force burnout leaving their business.

lets see... back when your car was new the lot boy and the Mech who checked your car in new at the dealership rodded it on the test drive. I know when I worked for Ford I did LOL and how long did the original stuff last?

i never understood the gear break in period.. imean, when you buy a new car, you really dont have to break em in do you? Then again, I dont know anything so.. just wondering.

only after the tech doing the pdi checked to make sure the speedo works to 100mph...who woulda thought a kia could do 100? i sure didnt at first...
but ya, for the gears i would drive it normal, and not give it too much stress for a few hundo then change out the fluid and go to the track
