after warming up, it reads at about 13 give or take and above 25 at 40mph, 1200 or so on the tach is this normal or early signs of something bad?

Sounds too low, you should have at least 10psi for every 1000 rpm and it should be around at least 25psi at idle. How thick of an oil are you using?

I believe its 10w-30 synthetic for 75k+ cars... do you think this means my oil pump is on its way out?

I thought low pressure meant your bearings were worn

crappy f*ck....
hmm, I usually run 10w-40... I think it was higher then too...
that means engine rebuild huh?
I may just have to sell it, since I have not time or money to rebuild it at the current time... hmm..

Engine rebuild time. Mine reads 30 at idle and 55-60 on the freeway.

I think pressure goes up with too much oil, with too little oil it goes down.
my old truck the guage would drop almost to zero at idle when it was time to put another quart in

I think its the opposite, too much fluid = low press not enough = high press?

The pressure is not affected by volume because the pickup for the pump is at the bottom of the pan anyway.
