when I brought the car the guy had installed a Hurst T-Handle shifter, I am trying to figure out how to take it off so I can put a stock shift knob back on it.. it seemed to have some sort of locking nut in between the handle and the leather boot I screwed that down, and I tried to twist the handle off but that doesnt work am I missing something here?

Nope. Might have Loc Tite on it. It should twist off counterclockwise.

yeah that is what I was thinking if that is the case, is there anyway to get it off, without having to buy a new handle?
