I just finished installing a s-trim on my 94gt... it had the HO version, and I installed everything per the instructions. there were only a few things that I had to "redneck" like the thermostat housing didnt allow the bracket to line up correctly. I massaged the housing and beyond that, it was really trouble free.
but when I test drove it home just now, it seemed..... sluiggish, like the gas pedal was sticking. I did try and rotate the boost retard controller from 0-3 with the same results.
Would me already having a 255lph in my tank (in addition to the one that came with the kit) cause this?
I also got a CE light on the way home, Ill pull the codes tomorrow. [ February 07, 2005, 12:31 PM: Message edited by: 94gt ]

sounds like a possible misfire..sluggish with a CE light...but i'm not sure Did you change your injectors and MAF at the same time?

Do you have an adjustable fuel pressure regulator? If so, what is your fuel pressure set at? How about the timing?
You may also want to check and make sure that all of the hose clamps for the blower inlet and outlet are tight. Also double check all the vaccum lines.
If you didn't do a tune up (plugs, wires, dist cap/rotor, and fuel filter) you may want to do one.

actually, I did buy new plugs, but the install kit said that I only needed to install them if the car had less than 10k on the current ones. The ones that I bought were 1 heat range colder, autozone didnt have any that were 2 ranges colder at the moment.
I have a low mile replacement dist, 5 month old wires, dist cap, rotor, ICM, and fresh oil change and filter.
also, the manual didnt say anything about the gap on the plugs? what should I set them at?

it could be related to your fuel pump and the FMU, I would suggest buying big injectors and dumping the FMU.

Is the car "sluggish" only when it is under boost or all the time? How does it idle?

it seemed to idle lower, but I kinda expected it to drag a little more with the s/c on it. and its constantly sluggish when I gas it. Why would i need to get bigger injectors and ditch the FMU? and what size? thanks!

You shouldnt ditch the FMU unless you get the car tuned. The FMU is designed to raise fuel pressure and deliever more fuel under boost. Bigger injectors and no FMU without a tune may not be a good idea. As far as the plugs, i'd go about 34 thousandths.

ok, i regapped the plugs at .035 and it seemed to idle a lot better.
I kept getting a lean CE light, and found that my 2nd fuel pump wasnt switching on.
Fixed that, and now it feels like the gas pedal isnt wanting to go down easy. It also sounds like its mis-firing too. I made sure that when I reconnected the plug wires that I did them the same way they came out.
any suggestions? Please!!!
