Anyone heard or seen locally a mild heads/cam/intake stock bottom end 302 with a vortech S-trim non-intercooled at 11-12 psi on pump gas making 500 rwhp? I tuned one on my dyno tonight, I couldn't beleive it nor could the owner! lol

Yeah, that's not unbelievable. 11-12lbs of boost *can* give 200RWHP given a good timing curve with an S-trim. Hell, 8lbs of turbo boost gave my combo right around 200RW. That means without the blower it's a solid 300RWHP 302 combo. What heads? AFR185? Edelbrock VicJr's? TW?

I beleive the heads are TFS with a track heat intanke manifold setup,B-cam, oh and get this shorty headers! off road X-pipe of course, through crapmaster mufflers.
Jeff, total timing was 19 on that pull, AFR around 11.2-5, but up top it went lean to 12.5 the motor was about 8.7-8:1 with those heads, no audible detonation to be heard.
12 psi of boost is theoretically a 80% gain at full timing so yea 300 rwhp times 1.8 = 540 rwhp, factor in less then full timing = ~500 rwhp
8 psi of boost is what about 60%? it all makes sense.
I know its all possible, just doesn't happen too often

Nice numbers! It's possible, no doubt about that.
I'm curious what the Cobra would do...tuned. I'm within 13rwhp of the number, untuned.

I like methonal its a great way to replace a intercooler and a excellent source of extra fuel, I tried for years to talk my mustang friends with non intercoolered vortechs to invest in a kit, but they were skeptical. Definitely give me a call, we can talk about your car.

The combo is as follows: 306, TRW flattops, steel crank (old-azz Calles crank) and re-sized rods w/ ARP hardware throughout. Edelbrock RPM's (2.02's) with a stage 2 port from TEA. TFS stage 1 cam, straight up. Ported Performer intake. 70mm TB, 80mm MAF. 36lb Inj's, full Aeromotive A1000 system. FMS shorty headers. SQ trim pushing 11 pounds. Timing at 7*. On a stock A9L. Nothing fancy. More than 70 passes, god knows how many street "tests" and was daily driven until I put the Welds on it.
And yes, pump gas.

42's should be good for more than that, might want to look into lack of fuel volume making it seem that the injectors were at 100%, just something to think about since 42's have put down quite a bit more power than that
great numbers none the less

my car is at 433 rwhp right now at 10lbs of boost. 36,000 mile stock shortblock. tfs high ports, f-cam, track heat intake, longtubes, i also have the 42's and they maxed out at 5500. i was told to upgrade the rails and lines and it should easily see 500.
